Anishinaabe-akiing gidayaamin
We are on Anishinaabe Lands
Boozhoo nindinawemaaganidog
(Greetings relatives of the creation),
We acknowledge all lands of Mikinaako-minising (Turtle Island / North America) as well as the rest of the Western Hemisphere as Indigenous Lands.
Locally, the land known as Bemijigamaag (Bemidji) is one of many traditional and current homelands among the vast territory of the Anishinaabeg Peoples.
Additionally, Bemijigamaag is situated between the
Gaa-zagaskwaajimekaag (Leech Lake), Gaa-waabaabiganikaag (White Earth), and Miskwaagamiwi-zaaga’iganing (Red Lake)
Nations of Ojibwe (the Ojibwe are part of the Anishinaabe Peoples).
We also acknowledge colonial settlers have greatly benefited from being on Indigenous Lands, often at the expense of the original inhabitants.
In the spirit of reconciliation, we hope to provide an atmosphere welcoming of diversity including building relationships with Indigenous Peoples and encourage others to reflect on this action.
Miigwech (Thank you) for joining us here at Lilypad Yoga as we journey toward mino-ayaawin (wellness), bagakaadiziwin (enlightenment), and mino-bimaadiziwin (a good life) together.
Zaagi’iding – With profound, unconditional love
Namaste
